@Dylanrod Fedora is good if you need to run Linux as your main system. It's very stable and easy to use.
If you want to learn I'd suggest picking a bit more hands-on distro. I like Gentoo. Or you can try Slackware. Try setting up something complex. In the process you'll face many p̶r̶o̶b̶l̶e̶m̶s̶… I mean, learning opportunities. Let's say, LAMP, LDAP & mail server (both SMTP & IMAP).
Depending on how curious you are you'll probably end up debugging kernel at some point.
